Turning a flyer into a banner stand
Reframe portrait flyer artwork for a 33 x 79 banner stand without stretching text, hiding important content, or overstating resolution.

A flyer and a retractable banner are both portrait pieces, but their proportions and viewing conditions are different. Stretching an 8.5 x 11 design to 33 x 79 distorts the artwork, while filling the banner by cropping can remove headlines, logos, or contact information.

Why resize is not reframe

For a 33 x 79 banner stand, the final aspect is much narrower than letter-size artwork. The missing vertical canvas must come from safe edge extension, a layered reconstruction, or a new target-aspect design.

Strategy A: extend simple edges

Strategy B: preserve layers for larger changes
Layered recomposition separates the subject, expands the canvas, and places a locked source/subject layer over the generated background. This protects original pixels and lettering from being re-created as plausible but incorrect text.
The result still needs inspection at full size. Segmentation can miss fine edges, transparent objects, shadows, hair, or closely spaced elements. Complex flyers may be better rebuilt from their editable source.

Resolution after reframing
Reframing solves shape, not detail. A 33 x 79 banner at a 100 DPI target needs 3300 x 7900 output pixels. A single Recraft upscale is limited by provider pixel and dimension ceilings, so the workflow can follow with a tiled 4x enlargement for the large-format file.
